Maintain Healthy Skin During Quarantine

Regardless of your skin type, an issue you are probably running into is dry or cracked skin as a result of washing your face and hands frequently. It is important to maintain healthy skin during quarantine and continuously moisturize your hands and face as often as possible. Applying moisturizer while your skin is a little damp will allow the product to penetrate the skin. If you find that your hands are extremely dry, you can apply moisturizer then put on some plastic gloves to seal in the product fully. Your skin may also become increasingly dry if you have a heater on at home. Therefore, you should remain consistent in applying hydrating masks and creams regularly.

It is a good habit to avoid touching your face regardless of a pandemic but it quite essential now more than ever. We use our hands to touch door knobs, keys, steering wheels, and many more items that are full of bacteria. Normally, transferring bacteria to your face could promote potential outbreaks. However, during a global crisis touching your face could mean you’ve exposed yourself to COVID-19, which could be detrimental to your health. It is better to be safe than sorry; keep your hands away from your face and make sure they’re thoroughly clean.

Additionally, you want to ease up on applying any make-up in order to give your skin a much needed break. Applying make-up every day can clog your pores and cause you to break out. Going make-up free during quarantine will allow your skin to breathe and give it that beautiful natural glow. If you do notice some breakouts here and there, you can do spot treatments that are specifically designed to treat the affected area. You can also use this time to apply serums and oils to your face that are very hydrating and help reduce any dry and dull skin.

Lastly, it is essential to continue exfoliating during this time. Dead skin cells continue to build up over time so it is important to regularly use a scrub in order to replenish your skin. It is equally important to moisturize your lips during this time. Applying your favorite lip balm before you go to bed will ensure that your lips stay hydrated all night. Skin care is very important and we can easily neglect proper skin care when we’re leading our busy lives. This is a perfect opportunity to stick to a proper skin care routine that works for you and your skin type.
