Your wedding day is arguably one of the most important events in your life! Most people want to look exceptional on their wedding day and go to great lengths to achieve it. There are many factors that can contribute to looking fabulous on your special day and one very important element of your appearance is your skin. There are several steps you can take leading up to your wedding day in order to achieve radiant, glowing skin. You’ll be walking down the aisle looking better than ever!

Moisturizing should be a part of your everyday skin care routine. However, if you tend to go days without applying moisturizer, make sure you don’t skip any days during your wedding week. Moisturizer adds hydration to the skin making it look vibrant, the lack of hydration to one’s skin makes the skin look dull and flat. Applying moisturizer before you go to bed allows your skin to absorb all the nutrients while you sleep.

Often times we forget to clean our make-up brushes and go weeks using the same dirty brushes. Make-up brushes hold a lot of bacteria due to all the products that we utilize them for. Make sure to clean your makeup brushes thoroughly to avoid any breakouts. If you use a make-up sponge to apply foundation, make sure to wash it daily before you use it. This will help eliminate any potential breakouts by reducing the amount of bacteria on the sponge.

If you do happen to wake up with a zit on your big day, don’t panic! Make sure to keep a break out spot corrector handy. Any breakouts that occur are most likely due to nerves or stress. It is much easier said than done, but if you can reduce your stress by getting a massage or going for a run, it is highly recommended. Your skin will thank you on your wedding day!

Make sure to give your skin a full-on treatment! Whether that means to go to a day spa or treating yourself at home. A full-on treatment can consist of using a face mask, exfoliating your skin, and applying oils or serums. Most importantly, create a facial kit that is catered to your skin type. If you have dry skin you’re going to need the extra hydration and stay away from any products that contain alcohol. If you have oily skin you’re going to want to exfoliate consistently to clean out any bacteria that may be trapped in your pores.
